7-11 December 2011, Bialystok, Poland

Films qualified for 6th International Short Film Festival ZUBROFFKA
Dear Spectators, Filmmakers, Studios, Film Schools and Lovers of Short Films!
We are pleased to inform you that 6th Edition of the Festival is knocking at the door.
It will take place between 7-11 December 2011 in Bialystok and Podlasie.
The Festival's promoter Bialystok Cultural Centre - DKF "GAG" have done their best to make it a real feast of world cinema, short film forms and good music. In five competition sections the viewers will see 89 films from Poland, Armenia, France, Estonia, Latvia, Georgia, Croatia, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Lithuania, Hungary, Romania, Norway, Iran, Japan, USA, Belgium, Italy, Israel, Canada, Finland, Germany and Spain.
The films will be judged by outstanding jurors: Head of the Jury - Marcin Koszałka (an eminent camera operator and one of the most popular and most frequently awarded documentary filmmakers), Mariola Brillowska (working in Germany, a painter, author of comic books, radio journalist, performance artist and animator), Milka Malzahn (a writer, singer and journalist representing Podlasie), Robert Lakatos (a filmmaker split between Hungary and Romania, lecturer, the winner of Special Award in Karlove Vary for his film "Bahrtalo!").
Additionally, in various parts of Podlasie you will have a chance to see films from other film festivals, such as JAPAN MEDIA ARTS, FRESH FILM FESTIWAL (Czech Republic), SHORT TIGER GERMAN NEXT GENERATION, SEMAFOR FILM FESTIWAL, BALTIC SHORTS as well as electrifying shorts from Georgia, Slovakia, Lithuania, Romania, Australia, Canada, Spain.
One of the greatest events of the Festival and its powerful opening will be Charlie Chaplin short films with live music by BLOCKHEAD (originating from New York City a hip-hop producer, one of the leaders of instrumental hip-hop, recording for the British Ninja Tune label). The closing of the Festival and the Awards Gala will be just as powerful with a multimedia music show THE SAINTBOX prepared by a sensational trio Gaba Kulka/Olo Walicki/Maciek Szupica.
ZUBROFFKA Festival is also a great chance to listen to superb live music. In Bialystok we are going to hear full of romantic expression and drive GURZUF from Belarus, Waglewski brothers with their harsh rock project KIM NOWAK and massacring the globe's dance floors Italian duo PELUSSJE. Musically visual icing on the cake of ZUBROFFKA will be a mind-blowing, three-dimensional, show prepared by British artists from NOVAK 3D DISCO.
For those who may not know yet, we would like to remind that International Short Film Festival ZUBROFFKA is an open event unobstructed by anything, respecting otherness and diversity so characteristic for the region of Podlasie. It is a place bringing together the artists who are OPENMINDED, have a sense of HUMOUR, value NATURE and its produce. The Festival aims to be a platform for exchanging ideas and thoughts, enabling fruitful meetings between artists form the East and the West.
